Behaviour
At West Park achievements are rewarded in the following ways :
• verbal praise
• written praise/credits
• mentioned in school assemblies/certificates of merit
• letters to parents
• governors' special commendations and certificates/awards evening
Sanctions imposed can take the following form:
• keeping a pupil behind for a few minutes discussion, after the class has left
• additional work undertaken in the pupil's own time
• formal evening detention for failure to complete homework (parents will be given 24 hours notice).
• withdrawal of privileges or association at break or lunch
• exclusion from lessons to work in isolation supervised by a member of staff
• daily report to Year Head; parents will be expected to check and sign this daily report. There are also other forms of reporting to senior staff
